Meet Dr. Addiego

Dr Addiego

Dr. Mimmo Addiego is a true “home grown” south Jersey orthodontist. Growing up on Long Beach Island, Dr. Addiego attended both LBI and Southern Regional schools before transferring and graduating from Bishop Eustace Preparatory school in 1993. He attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia where he majored in biology, achieved outstanding grades and earned a bachelors of science degree in 1997. Deciding to follow in the footsteps of many of his family members, Dr. Addiego became the 7th “Addiego” to pursue a career in dentistry.

In dental school, Dr. Addiego simply excelled. He received academic honors which included the Martin N. Kravit Award and the Philadelphia County Dental Society Student Award which were recognition of outstanding academic and clinical achievement. He was recognized in Who’s Who among Students in American Universities for his accomplishments at Temple Dental and received the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Award in recognition of his ability to assess and manage temporomandibular (TMJ) disorders and orofacial pain. Along with the numerous awards, Dr. Addiego became the only student to be inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society as a junior and he received the highest score on the National Board Exam. As busy as he was, Dr. Addiego volunteered to travel to Haiti where he provided free dental care to underprivileged children. In 2002, Dr. Addiego graduated at the top of his class.

Right after Dental school, Dr. Addiego decided to serve the United States Veterans and joined a one-year General Practice Residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Philadelphia. He also married his true sweetheart, Lieutenant Jessica Addiego, who is currently serving our country in the United States Navy.

Following his service with the veterans, Dr. Addiego journeyed to Boston, Massachusetts, where he completed his residency in orthodontics at Boston University’s School of Dental Medicine. He received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Training in Orthodontics as well as a Masters of Science in Dentistry degree in 2006. While training in Boston, Dr. Addiego received extensive training and certification in Invisalign, tissue management with lasers, as well as the placement and utilization of orthodontic miniscrew implants. The orthodontic program in Boston is considered to be one of the top orthodontic residencies in the country. Dr. Addiego had the privilege of being mentored by past chairman, Dr. Anthony Gianelly. Dr. Gianelly is internationally known as one of the best educators, researchers, and lecturers in orthodontics. The orthodontists who are trained at Boston University are taught to treat the most complicated orthodontic malocclusions, including patients who need orthognathic jaw surgery in conjunction with orthodontics.

Dr. Addiego believes in delivering the highest quality care in orthodontics, guided by a dedication to utilizing the most advanced techniques and materials, and to applying the latest findings from clinical research to his practice. He believes in spending ample time throughout the consultation experience to fully educate his patients about the nature of their orthodontic problem and the treatment options available to them. His devotion to every detail of the treatment helps ensure patient satisfaction with every aspect of their orthodontic experience.

Dr. Addiego loves his profession and his family. Dr. Addiego currently lives in Cedar Run with his wife and three children, Mario, Angelo, and Domenic.
